Why Uganda
Uganda offers a unique safari experience, distinctly different from the more familiar safari destinations in Africa. While many countries focus on vast savannas and the “Big Five,” Uganda presents an exceptional blend of diverse landscapes, rare wildlife, and immersive experiences far beyond the classic safari.
Mountain Gorillas
Uganda is one of only three countries in the world where you can encounter mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. This extraordinary experience is considered one of the most powerful and unforgettable highlights of East Africa.
Much More Than a Safari
Beyond traditional game drives, Uganda offers wide range of activities, including white-water rafting on the Nile River, boat safaris, and chimpanzee trekking.
Breathtaking Diverse Landscapes
Uganda’s scenery is remarkably varied, from open savannas and dense rainforests to rushing rivers, dramatic waterfalls, and the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains with changing landscapes throughout the journey.
Exceptional Wildlife Diversity
Uganda is home to an impressive range of wildlife. Alongside the “Big Five,” you’ll find rare mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, hundreds of colorful bird species, and unique mammals.
Fewer Tourists, Deeper Experiences
Compared to other safari destinations, Uganda offers a more intimate and unhurried experience, with fewer visitors and a genuine sense of space and tranquility.

About me
I’m Elinor Riftin, founder of On Track.
Over the years, I lived for seven years in Nigeria and seven years alternately in Uganda, not as a bystander but while living and working in the field. These years created a deep connection to the local people, nature, and places that are rarely visited.
My connection to Uganda was born from a genuine love for the country and a deep understanding of what transforms a journey into a meaningful experience filled with emotion and lasting memories, rather than just a series of stops along the way.
Every destination I take travelers to is a place I have personally visited, experienced, explored, and returned to time and again, out of true love for the place and a sincere desire to share it with others.
I accompany travelers, groups, and organizations in planning tailor made journeys, built through deep listening, open dialogue, and careful attention to the small details that make the difference between a good trip and an unforgettable one.
My professional background includes a BA in Economics, an MBA, and extensive experience in systems and budget management. This combination of business minded thinking, structure, and responsibility, together with a deep love for the region and its people, allows me to create journeys that are balanced, inspiring, safe, and thoughtfully designed.
The experience and local connections I have gained over the years enable me to create authentic and profound journeys, offering experiences not found on standard routes, and ones that remain in the heart long after the journey ends.
